Hawaiian Jewelry - Tips for Caring Gold Silver Pearls and Diamonds Hawaiian jewelry is incomparable in its beauty and allure. However, to ensure that jewelry always maintains its shine and luster it is essential that it has to be well cared properly. "Most women are more than happy to buy Hawaiian jewelry. However, you can truly tell when a woman loves her trinkets when every ornament that she wears sparkles as new. It is important to keep your jewelry in good condition to maintain its value," says Yoshi, Owner - My Hawaiian Jewelry. Here are some tips offered by My Hawaiian Jewelry on how to care for the jewelry. Caring for gold Hawaiian jewelry:  Gold is an extremely popular metal used in traditional Hawaiian jewelry but it is a soft metal that can be scratched easily. Thus, when cleaning the gold Hawaiian jewelry use a soft cloth.  Use luke-warm soapy water. Keep it away from all chemicals including ammonia, toothpastes and dishwashing detergents.  Chlorine is extremely detrimental to gold so ensure that you take off all the gold Hawaiian jewelry when in the pool or Jacuzzi. Caring for pearls:  Pearls are more delicate than any other precious metals and gemstones. Always put on the pearl jewelry after makeup, perfumes and hair spray.  When removing the pearls, wipe with a soft, moist cloth. Never use any chemicals.  Store pearls in a velvet or satin lined box and separate from other jewels that could scratch the surface of the pearls.  The best way to keep the pearls looking lustrous is to wear them! Caring for silver jewelry:  Silver jewelry can tarnish easily so requires higher maintenance than gold. It is advisable to polish the lush patina of silver regularly before it gets tarnished. Prevention is much easier than cure after all.  Silver jewelry is best cleaned with mild soapy water. Let the water bead up on the jewelry and then pat it dry with a soft cloth.  Special solutions created for cleansing silver can be used. Ask jeweler for a good recommendation.  Do not use tissue paper or towels to rub silver. The fibers in these products can scratch the surface easily. Caring for diamonds:  In addition to all the regular jewelry caring tips, remember that diamonds should never be stored with any other jewelry. Diamonds are the hardest stone that exist and can easily damage the jewelry and gems.  Also, diamonds can sometimes become loose in their setting. Take the jewelry to a reputed jeweler immediately and have it reset unless willing to risk loosing the diamond altogether. Traveling with Hawaiian jewelry:  When traveling with Hawaiian jewelry ensure that each piece of jewelry is stored separately wrapped in a soft piece of cloth. Do not throw the Hawaiian jewelry in with the other accessories or cosmetics. The jewelry is likely to be scratched or broken. Also get jewelry cases designed exactly for this purpose. Thus, with proper care and maintenance Hawaiian jewelry can maintain its brilliant luster and shine forever! Want to Get your own E-News to better promote your website. The sheltered coast and delightful beaches made Lahaina an ideal playground for the king and his royal family. Today, Lahaina could easily be called the fun capital of Hawaii. Known all over the world for its colorful waterfront atmosphere, Lahaina attracts over a million visitors each year. People of all ages love to explore the famous Fropnt Street where one can find resident celebrities like George Benson and Carol Burnett casually sipping cofee at one of Lahaina's sixty-odd restaurants. Informality and fun are written all over this town, a spirit that harks back to the 1840's when up to four hundred whaling ships would anchor off Lahaina 'Roadstead,' discharging their crews of rowdy sailors. Afer months at sea these 'salty dogs' went straight to the taverns for grog and bawdy merriment. Troublesome drunks were thrown in the 'Hale Pahao' prison which still stands on Prison Street. Strolling through Lahaina is a must for every visitor. The original historic flavor has been maintained through the efforts of the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, while being kept contemporary by the Lahainatown Action Committee. Hundreds of curio shops, sophisticated jewelers, art galleries and boutiques contain a myriad of wares ideal for gifts or personal mementos of your visit to Paradise. The historical town center is noted for its 110-year-old Banyan Tree, one of the world's largest, which grows over a whole block just in front of The Wharf Cinema Center. The Center, which boasts more than 50 shops and restaurants, surrounds a comfortable courtyard decorated with waterfalls and convenient, umbrella-shaded tables. Opposite is the Pioneer Inn, built in 1906, which looks out on the Lahaina Small Boat Harbor crammed with cruise boats and private yachts. Looking back from the Carthaginian, the authentic replica of a whaling brig, one can see the Seawall and shops lining Front Street. Beyond the Banyan Tree and past the tennis courts is 505 Front Street, a nautical 'village' of oceanfront shops and restaurants next to the Lahaina Shores Hotel. A walk toward the north end of town leads past the Wharf, the Seawall and Lahaina Market Place, a collection of shops and restaurants set in an open-court atmosphere. After Lahaina Shopping Center, with a large parking area and a good place to find photo supplies, suntan lotions and comfortable shoes, and across the street from Longhi's, you'll find the Lahaina Center, home of Hilo Hattie and the world-renowned Hard Rock Caf. A few blocks to the north, you can enjoy the air-conditioned comfort of the Lahaina Cannery. Lahaina, by day or night, is a warmhearted, romantic town which, for centuries, has been a popular haven for vacationers.
