Click to see a few flowers Click Here to Reserve Sunset Click Here For Planning and FAQ's Aloha - My name is Kris Anderson, Photographer.I have been in the Hawaii Wedding business for over 15 years. I have always loved seeing how happy couples are to receive beautiful Hawaii wedding photographs and video. I know most couples who plan a Hawaii wedding would like to have an excellent chance to get a Romantic Sunset Photograph at the end of their Hawaii wedding. Sadly most locations won't have a sunset and most photographers don't know how to capture it on film correctly even if it did happen. New - There are many couples who come to Hawaii who think that the weather in Hawaii is always nice. Many advertisements offer a sunset wedding package even though the sunset is on the opposite side of the island. This is quite common on Kauai and Oahu. People just don't ask enough questions. Hawaii also gets rain all the time. I worked on Kauai for six years and have seen it rain on far too many weddings. The sunsets are almost never visible.Nearly 50% of Kauai weddings get rain. Hanalei gets so much rain you could have a very wet vacation. It can be very nice but you never know. Maui's free locations are usually very small and crowded. The last two times I was on Maui it rained in Wailea and Lahina. I have seen as many as 14 couples show up at the same beach for a wedding.Oahu is fun and has good shopping, I don't consider it a romantic place. Many couples sit in traffic on their wedding day. I know the best sunset wedding location in Hawaii - and it's free. The sunsets are the best in Hawaii all year. It's like a machine - almost every night. Up at Waikoloa, just 25 miles from Kailua Kona on The Big Island of Hawaii, the rainfall is about 6 inches a year. Very little rain and excellent hotels and activities. What a great combination . Other locations on Hawaii Island aren't nearly as nice. I know several of the very best Licensed Ministersin Hawaii and we are offering an unbeatable wedding package. You also can arrange for more flowers, champagne, music, cake etc. if you want. You can customize your ceremony or leave it us - I'll even do a Keep sake edited Wedding Video along with my Forty Print Photography Package (2 still camera shoot - negatives available at $45.00) .You can spend the money you save having fun together on your Hawaii Honeymoon. Plus you will have beautiful wedding photographs and video by Kris. No deposit is required if you are using one of the Licensed Ministers on my list. Just pay the $150.00 ministers fee to reserve your date. The ministers fee is usually sent direct after you make your selection. I like the fact that nearly every couple is in contact with their Licensed Minister / Wedding Officiate.I will hold your date on my wedding calendar if we have the minister booked. Note that $150.00 is deducted from the package price when the ministers fee is paid. Come back and view my site often. I have 1,000's of new photo's to publish. I will also include photo's of some very poor locations. Watch for new photo's at Hapuna, Holoholokai and Harbor Beaches. Also many more at A-Bay. We also have purchased another very expensive computer and more cameras recently. We can now do DVD whenever required. We produce photo CD's several times every week. The most important thing by far is fun professional photography, using the best film, cameras and processing. I have everything covered including the video. Weddings are so much fun in Hawaii - it's the best for wedding photography and ceremonies by the sea. The best location for weddings in Hawaii is here in Waikoloa. No one who wants great Photo's likes rain. Here in Waikoloa you have less than 2% chance of rain and 95% chance of a great sunset. We charge less than many other photographers who don't have the equipment or experience that I do. Within the last month, I spent $8,000 for two new still camera systems complementing my already number one system developed over 12 years for Hawaii Weddings. A very cool 3 chip Digital Sony captures your ceremony by the sea. Nikon, Sony and digital = a great Hawaii wedding - you won't be disapointed. I also do one or two Renewal Ceremonies every month - so romantic. Click Here to Receive Mailer. I am shooting more digital - just like Pro Wedding Photographers all over America. To read the latest about digital wedding photography you can read the same stuff I do every week at: DigitalPhotographers.net One method that works for me is to have 3 cameras. One pro color film, one digital and one backup. This is a slow move to digital. Pro film is still nice with bright highlights - like sunset. Digital images are made availabe on your free web site. I am not substituting to save money on film, it's just that digital is so nice. Actually I am spending lots of money because of the additional cameras, flash and memory cards. Also digital creates endless hours on the computer, but I feel it's worth it now - with the new cameras available. I am always striving to be the very best I can. The prints from digital are made on the same pro photo paper at our lab - made to last 100 years. Digital has arrived and it requires photographers to be computer geeks. I have been editing digital video for years already. Another really great feature about having everything on CD is my ability to edit in some of the best images from the photo shoot when making wedding DVD's - really impressive. Recently we had some bad weather pass by Hawaii. The clouds turned really nice colors after sunset - very very low light and after sunset. With the digital camera I was ready to capture the moment. The scene lasted less than TWO MINUTES. The flexability of digital allowed me dial in the equivelent of ASA 800 film to capture another very special photograph for them - along with the pro film - it's an added benefit that doesn't take away from what I've been doing for many years. This flexability (changing film speed in 10 seconds) is really wonderful. The other benefits of having everything on CD things like cropping and simple retouching at no charge. Also I can make an unlimited number of images. This is great for Photo Journalism style combined with the traditional. Also, if we have everything on CD, magazine style wedding album pages are possible in PhotoShop CS - really cool. Digital cannot be ignored and we are already a digital studio (video).Digital Video is way more complex than Digital Stills. Mention (email me) that you read this and I'll make a free automated website with photographs from your wedding. Available in 1 day. This is nice for family to see your wedding pictures on the net. Usually I email the password once the site is ready. Normally I will leave the site up for 60 days. Should family members want prints they can also order direct. Standard prints including simple retouching and custom cropping are just $10.00 + S/H. I can also host your wedding video on the web - ask for a quote. Video takes much longer to do for the web. Cons: Eating-in means you take your to-go styrofoam container and sit at a table. I work down the street so actually come here fairly often. Its really cheap and they give you a good amount of food. I like the teriyaki plates and the bento box. I LOVE the Aloha Saimin. This consists of a bowl of incredibly rich soup, with saimin noodles, teriyaki chicken, spam, and a fresh fried egg on top. All this for under $5. The macaroni salad is to die for, btw, and I have been known to order huge party plates of it, along with party plates of shortribs, to bring to pot-lucks. The Loco Moco is for the big eaters - two huge hamburger patties over rice, with lots of gravy, fried eggs on top and mac salad on the side. Yep, its Hawaiian alright! For less than $4, you can get a teriyaki mini-plate consisting of meat, rice and macaroni salad. Oh, and the proprieters are extremely sweet. Brittni Paiva's second album, "Hear..." combines both island and non-island selections. She won a Na Hoku Hanohano award as "most promising artist" for her first album, and will be in contention for "Instrumental album of the Year" for this release. Ms. Paiva (now 17), began recording 2 years ago but has had a fascination with Ukulele, Bass & Slack Key guitar for many years. She plays all three instruments on this album. (using multi-tracking). You'll love her interpretations of the island classics, Akaka Falls & Opihi Moemoe. Brittni wrote several tunes on the album and finishes with her first vocal. She sings "E Lohea Mai" (which means "hear...") in both Hawaiian and Hebrew. The album just touches the surface of this young lady's talent. While on the top-rated Fox show, the Hawaii-born Trias joined Fantasia Barrino and Diana DeGarmo to finish in the top 3. Although it has taken Jasmine a while to get her songs and arrangements together, IT WAS CERTAINLY WORTH THE WAIT! Ernie, John & Desiree Cruz (in her "premier performance") each favor us with a tune. ISLAND STYLE contains a well-balanced mix of island talent and songs. The overall outlook for this release is bright and sunny. This will be one of Palm Records biggest sellers. Island Style , and all Palm Records releases, featuring such talents as KOHALA, are in daily rotation on our Aloha Radio Network. All of their albums are well conceived and attractively presented by Art Director, Jody Brotman. Visit their website to see their entire on-line catalog. www.palmrecords.com Aloha JOE SLACK KEY GUITAR Volume 2 - Palm Records A compilation of ten island artists The slack key guitar's roots can be traced back to the early days of the Hawaiian Cowboys. (the Paniolo). In the past ten years, this musical form has moved from the "backyard" to concert halls around the world. The slack key guitar is a solo instrument played with the virtuosity of any concert performance. There are many "slack key festivals" in Hawaii that showcase a variety of artists during one program, but concert promoters around the world can't afford to present ten island performers on one show. That's where SLACK KEY GUITAR V2 from Palm Records comes in handy. It's like having front-row seats at an island Slack Key Festival. Fans of slack key turn to the many instructional books and videos which teach the concept of tuning the guitar and explain the basics of playing, but to really learn, you need to listen to a wide variety of styles. Producer Charles Brotman corralled ten of Hawaii's slack key artisans to present a cross section of musical styles. These range from traditional to more contemporary treatments. Sonny Lim, Ken Emerson, Keoki Kahumoku and Charles Brotman do a pair of tunes each and Bryan Kessler, Randy Lorenzo, Jeff Peterson, Charlie Recaido, John Cruz and John Keawe each favor us with a selection. I'm glad Big Island company, Palm Records, decided that the world NEEDS another album of guitar music because Slack Key Guitar Volume 2 is a perfect learning tool and a wonderful addition to your Slack Key collection. Remember, you can listen and pretend you're attending a concert featuring ten of Hawaii's best. If you would like to know more...visit PALM RECORDS website...tell them I sent you...Aloha JOE JOHN KAMEAALOHA ALMEIDA 1897- 1985 - Hana Ola Records This masterwork is the latest offering from Hawaiian music historian Harry B. Soria, Jr. and Hana Ola Records. The album spotlights the musical genius of John K. Almeida by presenting 22 performances and 21 original compositions. The well-written liner notes present an extensive "family history" and chronicle the professional career of "Hawaii's Blind Musician." John Almeida picked up the ukulele at age 4 and during his 87 years on Earth, he mastered that instrument, the mandolin, guitar, steel guitar, violin, banjo, bass, saxophone, piano and composed over 200 Hawaiian language compositions. The song list is familiar and impressive - Lei Hinahina, Holoholo Ka'a, Noho Paipai, Kanaka Waiwai, Kiss Me Love, and on, and on..... Mahalo to Harry B. Soria and Hana Ola Records for putting together this musical time capsule which preserves an era that should never be forgotten.
