Remains of two important heiau (places of worship) that were rededicated as war temples by Kahekili, Maui's last ruling chief. Viewpoint of Central Maui. Park gate open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 10.2 acres 'Iao Valley State Monument End of 'Iao Valley Road (Highway 32), 'Iao Valley. Scenic viewpoint of 'Iao Needle, an erosional feature which abruptly rises 1200 feet from the valley floor.
