Hawaiian Shirt

How to Fold a Hawaiian Shirt, Elementary School Art, Manchester CT USA How to... fold an origami Hawaiian Shirt ( a short sleeved sport shirt). There are many photos, so do a few stretches or go get a juice while itloads. This shirt was sent to me by my aunt. It had been a birthday card to my uncle. The back folds down, (the collar is actually a catch, a lock, that keeps the origami from unfolding). The buttons are glued on but paper buttons or even drawn ones look fine. You can write a note and place it within the shirt. This origami starts with a RECTANGLE, not the usual square. Plain copier paper is fine and you can draw palm trees and other patterns on it! Gift wrapping paper can sometimes be found that has a Hawaiian pattern look. Elementary students have fun creating heads and arms or whole bodies to go with the shirt! If you have a pattern for shorts...LET US KNOW!!!!!! Fold in half, then unfold Fold side edges to the center crease. Be neat! Be sure fold starts exactly in the bottom corners and lines up neatly along the side edge. Then you can flip up the bottom so the crease is exactly where the flaps stop. Stick you fingers inside the folded up area. Grab hold of the tip of corner piece on one side. Pull it out and to the side! Don't mash it! There are crease lines already where it is to fold...you made them when you folded the tips up. Now TUCK IN the corner. (Not, tuck behind...the corner disappears inside itself.) The crease that it turns in on is already there...see the dotted line? Do both sides. Your sleeves are done! See how the model has been turned over ? Fold down about 1/4 inch of paper...that is about as wide as a crayon. THEN TURN IT OVER AGAIN!! Fold in the side like this so it touches the center line. You will see the collar. Make the other side meet the center at the exact same place so the collar looks right. THIS IS THE LAST STEP! Fold up the bottom...TUCK UNDER the collar and crease the bottom of the shirt. Draw details. Add a tie if you want to be more formal. Add a head ....cartoon style...or a caricature of someone you know. Find heads in a magazine... Design the rest of the outfit! Write a note to put inside if it is a card. Remember, your first one is usually lumpy. Learn from your mistakes and the next one will be better! Kauai Grand circle - 60 min. Deluxe Kauai Sunset - 45 min. | One Hour Helicopter Tour in Paradise Helicopter Tour in Paradise (1hr.) Kauai -- the way this helicopter tour is flown - must have been the inspiration for Hollywood's concept of cinerama. The blended shades of blue at the ocean's edge, the engaging spill of ethereal and rainbowed waterfalls, the infinite number of perfectly imposing cliffs, each one a unique work of art sculpted by 6-million years of nature's finest artisans, all combine to make your tour by air one of the most thrilling experiences of your life. Will Squyres Helicopter Tours lets you discover Kauai's most inspiring mountains, most magical caves, enticing waterways, unique flora and fauna, rich red dirt and emerald green vistas from a safe and comfortable seat aboard their ASTAR 350. This magnificent aircraft is air-conditioned and built with custom bubble windows to allow you the maximum view possible of the splendor of the Garden Island. Will knows magnificent views! And Hollywood knows and respects Will. He has scouted site locations for movies such as Universal Pictures' Jurassic Park, and Castle Rock Pictures' Outbreak and North, and you will probably get to see these and other familiar movie backdrops on your tour. A few of the best known sights and best kept secrets that await you are: Waimea Canyon, dubbed by Mark Twain as the "Grand Canyon of the South Pacific." Although Mark Twain never visited the island, he must have seen enough of it to judge the unparalleled grandeur of this famous Kauai landmark. It is truly a spectacular sight. Mount Waialeale is known as the wettest spot on earth with an average annual rainfall of about forty feet. Most of the mountain rain drains into the nearby Alakai Swamp, home to several rare species of plants and birds. Wailua Falls is also known as Fantasy Island Waterfalls for their cameo appearance weekly in the TV series of the same name. The legendary Na Pali Coast, with its dramatic cliffs chisled by time to a razor sharp beckoning, is spellbinding no matter how many times you see it. This is the home of the legendary Bali Hai as seen in the 20th Century Fox movie, South Pacific and yes, it is calling you. Will Squyres Helicopter Tours lets you respond. Many of these Kauai wonders can only be fully appreciated by air. But wait! There's more. Since these pilots are just as knowledgeable about Kauai's myths, legends and history as they are about flying the ASTAR 350, you not only get a thrilling ride but a mini Kauai education as well, as they present you with the facts and legends about the Kauai they all love and respect.
