When Malibu® coconut rum is unavilable you can use 1 1/2 oz. of light rum and 1/2 oz. of coconut cream. INGREDIENTS: 1 oz. light rum 1 oz. Malibu® coconut rum 2 oz. fresh or frozen strawberries 1 small banana 2 oz. unsweetened pineapple juice 2 oz. coconut cream PREPARATION: Blend the 2 rums and the strawberries in a blender to form a smooth paste. Pour this mixture into a tall (Collins or Hurricane) glass. Rinse the blender. Blend the banana, the coconut cream, and the pineapple juice in blender with crushed ice until smooth. Pour this mixture into the glass with the rums very slowly and watch as the strawberry mixture oozes its way to the top along the sides of the glass creating the flowing lava effect. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and paper umbrella. Hawaiian Astronomical Society - Deepsky Atlas Hawaiian Astronomical Society Constellations: Stories and a Deepsky Atlas HAS Home Search All Sky Maps Constellations Listing Deepsky Listings Jay Wrathall's Messiers The Hawaiian Astronomical Society Storybook and Deepsky Atlas is a long term effort to provide a good online atlas of the heavens, combined with photographs of significant objects, and their descriptions. A second goal involves mapping the sky, using the following plan: Each constellation will receive a wide area map. There follows more detailed maps of the constellation, beginning in its northeast quadrant, and moving counter-clockwise around the constellation. Obviously, we had to make allowances for some peculiar shapes. We thank Software Bisque's The Sky for Windows for making this possible. A third goal involves telling the story(ies) behind the constellation. Many good stories from both Greco-Roman, and other civilizations enrich our culture. We thank Kayoko Calef for much of the research in this area. Many constellations, particularly the southern ones, have no myth associated with them. For their "myth" section, I have added biographies of the scientists associated with them. We know of no other site that has attempted combining detailed maps, deepsky objects, and myth into individual constellation pages. That said, certain elements have been tried, and they need mentioning. SEDS has become a huge repository of astronomical images. Their cross-referenced Messier catalog (maintained by Hartmut Frommert ) has become the Internet standard. SEDS combines scientific data, images, and crude maps. These pages use this fine work. Thus, you will find many links to SEDS here. See also SEDS' mirror site . The Peoria Astronomical Society provides another Messier survey of the sky , as part of their Astronomical Handbook . For other deepsky image catalogs, click here . Finally, there is the Digital Sky Survey, a huge project entering its second generation. This is a monochrome CCD record of the entire sky. Generation one is a more superficial scan of the sky. Generation two achieves the depth of a longer focus 10-12" telescope. A half degree field takes up to two megabytes. You can access the survey easily through the HAS Web site, thanks to the work of Gary Ward. This is an ambitious project that will take time to realize. Executive Chef Thomas Muromoto was born and raised in Hawaii and has a culinary career that spans Hawaii's finest restaurants. He has won numerous awards for his creations including the "Top Honor Best of Show" award at the Taste of Lahaina. Prior to his work in Food and Beverage, Muromoto served in the US Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk and surfed on the professional circuit. Chef Thomas is married to wife Liane and they have two children. Award-Winning Pulehu Beef Tenderloin & Opae Marinated Beef tenderloin and Shrimp, grilled over an open flame with a Chipotle Aioli, cilantro pesto and Asian sweet soy sauce. ( Click here for more details ) Six Servings Beef Marinade & dressing 1/4 cup Sweet Soy Sauce 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce, low sodium 1 tsp Fish Sauce 3 Tbsp Water 1 tsp Garlic, Chopped 1 tsp Ginger, peeled chopped 2 Tbsp Green Onions, Chopped 1/4 cup Basil, Chopped 2 Tbsp Cilantro w/ stems chopped 1 Tbsp Sambal olek 1/4cup Sweet Chili Sauce Black pepper, grd to taste 1 cup Salad Oil 4 Beef tenderloin steaks Steps 1) Combine all ingredients and mix well. 2) Reserve 3 tablespoons for topping of entree, Use remainder to marinate beef. 3) Place beef tenderloin or other meats in marinade. Let sit for 4 hours. 4) Place on broiler and cook to desired doneness. Cilantro, Garlic Pesto Shrimp Marinade 1/4 cup Cilantro w/stems chopped 16 Cloves Garlic, cloves roasted 1/8 cup Green onions, chopped 1/4 cup Parsley, leaves only, chop 1 cup Olive blend oil Salt to taste 8 pcs Shrimp, 16/20 ct Steps 1) In blender combine all ingredients blend together well. 2) Season with a little salt. 3) Reserve 3 tablespoons for topping of entree. 4) Use remainder of pesto to marinate shrimp for 2-4 hours. 5) Grill to order. Chipotle Aioli 1 each Egg, yolk 1 tsp Garlic, chopped 2 tsp Chipotle chili's 2 each Lime juice, fresh 4 Tbsp Honey 3 Tbsp Water 1 cup Olive blend Salt to taste Steps 1) In blender combine all ingredients except oil. Blend together well. 2) While blending slowly add oil till all is blended. 3) Season with a little salt. Variations: Use above sauces & marinates with other meats & seafood.
