Day#2 - Saturday, January 28: Honolulu, Oahu This afternoon we will embark upon the Norwegian Pride of America. Unwind and relax, the day is yours to explore and enjoy. Don't forget to sign up for shore excursions or any spa service you may want to experience. Day #3 - Sunday, January 29: Hilo, Hawaii Nestled on the crescent-shaped shore of Hilo Bay, this beautiful port is an exotic greenhouse of lush tropical plants and abundant waterfalls. Snow-capped Mauna Kea and Kilauea craters tower dramatically in the background and provides proximity to some of this islands most spectacular scenery. You'll love Hilo's flourishing flowers and lush tropical plants. Day #4 - Monday, January 30: Kahului, Maui This bustling harbor is minutes away from some of this islands most scenic spots. Visit the sacred Iao Valley and the Maui Tropical Plantation, or hit the world-renowned links at nearby Kapalua. Kahului's beach is said to contain "Maui Diamonds, small white quartz stones mistaken for the real thing by early explorers. Tonight you will overnight in port at Kauhlui, Maui. Day #5 - Tuesday, January 31: Kahului, Maui Today will be another day spent in Kahului with a departure at 6:00 pm. Don't forget the nightlife with the Las Vegas style shows to dancing the night away in one of the nightclubs, or just star gazing on the deck. Day #6 - Wednesday, February 1: Kona, Hawaii Situated on the Western coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, Kona is warm and sunny year-round. With spectacular sunsets, numerous historic sites, abundant wildlife and marine life. Day #7 - Thursday, February 2: Nawiliwili, Kauai Verdant and lush, it is no wonder that this is considered the sacred "Garden Island" of Hawaii. The sweet smell of mokihana berries permeates the air and the lush green landscape intoxicates the senses. At Waimea Canyon, the union of water, sunshine, clouds and canyon walls create the most colorful rainbows imaginable. It is no wonder that Hollywood producers have come here hundreds of times when looking for paradise. South Pacific, Blue Hawaii, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Jurassic Park were filmed here on the island of Kauai. Tonight you will overnight in port at Nawiliwili, Kauai. Day #8 - Friday, February 3: Nawiliwili, Kauai Today will be another day spent in Nawailiwili with a departure at 6:00 pm. Onboard the ship take advantage of what it has to offer. Enjoy the swimming pools / hot tubs, fitness center, duty free shops, and more. Or how about going to the full service spa, or visiting the library and reading a book as you look out over the ocean. Day #9 - Saturday, February 4: Honolulu, Oahu / Chicago Today we will disembark in Honolulu and spend the day touring the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor and then begin our journey home. Maryland Pkwy Las Vegas, NV 89119 Sahara Square - Maryland & Sahara With the growing number of L & L Hawaiian Barbecue franchise restaurants in the Las Vegas Valley we decided to pay a visit to the Sahara Square branch. The restaurant consists of counter style ordering, seats a cozy (approximately) 50 people and has an island feeling with it's bamboo decor. Combination plate lunches are about $8, single plate lunches average $4 for mini size, $6 for regular size. Plate lunches include two scoops of rice and Hawaiian Style Mac Salad. Saimin bowls and sandwiches are between $2 - $3. Also includes an array of side orders ranging from $1 - $4. Entering the restaurant and walking up to the counter it's a little overwhelming (in a good way) with it's extensive Local plate lunch menu. The counter person showed patients while it took a few minutes to decide on our order. Our fist order was the Seafood Platter which included fried shrimp, mahi mahi, and scallops. The shrimp was good, mahi mahi was very tender. The scallops was so-so. Maybe because it's not part of our typical Hawaiian/Local diet. We then tried the island favorite Chicken Katsu, large serving and lightly breaded. The tender and juicy chicken tasted even better with their special blended and sweet tasting katsu sauce. We also ordered a regular size Hawaiian Teriyaki Beef plate. Again it was of a generous portion. The teriyaki marinade seemed a little strong for the thin cut of beef, but still desirable. The grilled boneless chicken in the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate was superb and plentiful. We still had room in our opu (stamach) so we went with one of their Sweet and Sour Spare Rib specials. Meat/bone cut was quit a bit larger than the norm, but certainly nothing to complain about. The sauce had a perfect blend of sweet-n-sour. Overall we enjoyed our visit to the Sahara Square L & L Hawaiian Barbecue franchise. We were impressed with their menu and quick friendly service. Our visit was unannounced and funded by Aloha Valley.
