Purpose: The client has an extensive selection of collector quality Hawaiian shirts to sell. These are NOT just 'normal' vintage shirts, many of them are featured in books about the subject! Budget: PC Mojo doesn't disclose budgets except in very general terms. This web site was published for under $2,000. Web Site Size: Medium. Due to the extremely limited availability of quality vintage Aloha shirts, the client expects to maintain an inventory of between 120 and 200 shirts maximum. The PC Mojo Solution: All original graphics were designed. Because this site has a distinctive focus on Hawaiian shirts, we tried to use a tropical theme. Jungle flora adorns the top and bottom corders, and woven bamboo strands border both sides of each page. We think it looks cool, yet isn't so distracting that it detracts from the quality of the shirts. The site is hosted on a on a Windows 2000 server. The backend database is ODBC for the time being, and all programming for site administration, catalog maintenance and shopping cart functions was custom written using Cold Fusion. A custom shopping cart was developed for the site. The client is able to add a new shirt to the database and upload up to four pictures of each shirt by completing one simple form. Because these are rare and unique shirts, each image is reduced to a manageable size for display on the web pages AND the original image of any size is also kept. The reason for this is that the detail of each shirt is important, and anybody interested in purchasing one of these shirts won't mind waiting for a huge image to load on their screen if they can then see the details. Three Maui activities to choose from. The Kanaio Coast trip (4 hours), the Molokini Express trip (2 hours) or thecombination of the two (5 hours).
