Click here for Map of Maui D.T. Fleming Park Picnic tables, shower, public restrooms, a popular beach. WARNING: We Do Not Recommend This Location For Any Water Sports Due To Dangerous Surf And Currents. Kapalua Beach Nominated by Sunset Magazine as the world's nicest beach. Located on Highway 30 in Kapalua. Look for public beach access between the Napili Kai and the Kapalua Bay Club. Cemetery The area just north of Wahikuli Park has good calm swimming area. Mostly sandy bottom. Good for beginners. Wahikuli Park Picnic tables, restrooms, showers, a good sandy beach, easy access for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. Mana Kai Hotel Located on South Kihei Road. Good snorkeling along the rocky coast in front of the hotel. Enter the water on the sandy beach to the left and snorkel along the rocks to the right. Ulua Beach / Mokapu Beach Located in the heart of Wailea Resort. Turn right on public beach access just past the Stouffer Wailea Hotel. Snorkel and scuba diving on the rocky point between both beaches. Deeper reef extends further out. Showers and restrooms. Molokini Crater One of Maui's four marine preserves. Hawaii's most exciting snorkeling and scuba diving destination. Accessible only by boat. Call any Maui Dive Shop for reservations. Wailea Beach Look for a public beach access parking lot between the Grand Wailea and the Four Seasons Hotel(s) in Wailea. Excellent sunbathing/swimming beach with good snorkeling and scuba diving to the left. Makena Landing/Five Caves (5 Graves) Just past the Makena Surf Condo, turn right on Makena Road. Proceed 4/10ths of a mile to a large brown sign saying Makena Landing.Parking, showers, and restrooms are available. There's good snorkeling to the left of the bay, excellent scuba diving to the right. About 2/10ths of a mile back along Makena Road is Five Caves/Graves. Underwater caves and ledges highlight this area. The outer reef is home to a large green sea turtle colony, sometimes caller "turtle town". WARNING: Do Not Enter The Caves. Makena Beach Drive through the Makena Resort community to the Maui Prince Hotel. You will see a large red hill (cinder cone) in the distance, called"Pu'u O Lai". Makena Beach extends from the base of this hill, south one mile. There are two paved parking lots on the right side of the road. This is one of Maui's most popular beaches. WARNING: Not Recommended For Snorkeling, Diving, Or Boogie Boarding Due To Large Surf and Strong Currents. Baldwin Beach Located on Highway 36 driving towards Paia. Park facilities, family beach, good swimming, beautiful white sand beach, often windy. Not recommended for beginners. Honolua Bay One of Maui's four marine preserves. 6/10 ths of a mile past mile marker 32 on Rout 30, north of Kapalua. Look for a narrow dirt road that leads to the bay where there is a old boat ramp. Good for snorkeling and scuba diving. Best in the summer. Kahekili Beach Park (Old Airport Beach) Driving north on Rout 30 towards Kapalua, enter at the northern-most entrance to Ka'anapali Resort. Look for public beach access and parking towards the right. Facilities include a pavilion, showers, restrooms, picnic tables. Good for beginners. Black Rock (Sheraton Hotel) In the midst of Ka'anapali Resort, there is excellent diving and snorkeling around the lava rock in front of the hotel. The fish and eels are tame from hand feeding (Beware, they can still bite!) so no spear fishing please. Olowalu South of Lahaina on Rout 30 look for mile marker 14. One of Maui's most popular snorkeling and scuba diving areas. Easy access with abundant coral and fish. McGregor Point (Lighthouse) On Highway 30 towards Lahaina from Ma'alaea, 7/10ths of a mile past mile marker 7. Turn left on the gravel road leading to the lighthouse. Recommended for advanced diving only. Kamaole Parks I, II, and III Kihei's best beaches for swimming and sunbathing. Found along South Kihei Road before entering Wailea. Excellent for beginners. The best diving is found along rocky points on either end of the beaches. Lifeguards are on duty. Good for boogie boarding. Available facilities include restrooms and showers. Ahihi Bay One of Maui's four marine reserves. Located about 1.5 miles past the Maui Prince Hotel. Look for a small bay right beside the road, next to a hexagon-shaped house. There is a second entry location a 1/2 mile further down the road, look to your right for a gravel parking area. No beach facilities. Excellent snorkeling and scuba diving. La Perouse One of Maui's four marine reserves. Located 2 miles past Ahihi Bay over a rugged lava flow. Paved road, no facilities. Excellent snorkeling and scuba diving for experienced divers. WARNING: Use Caution On Entries And Exits Due To Rugged Coastline. Hana Bay Snorkel between the pier and the lighthouse. Stay well inshore as the currents can be very powerful outside. Good coral and fish. Keanae Located halfway between Paia and Hana on the Hana Highway. Good local fishing spot, beautiful and picturesque. Not recommended for diving. Ho'okipa Beach Park Located on Highway 36, just past Paia. Famous as a world class windsurfing beach, picnic tables, showers, and restrooms. Not recommended for diving.
