Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary. Molokini is a marine reserve with spectacular water clarity and a pristine coral reef. Rated one of the best snorkeling spots in the world this reef has a variety of beautiful reef fish and animals. More than 400 varieties of fish are found in Hawaiian waters and more than 33% of these are endemic, they are found only here in Hawaii. Occasionally we see dolphins, whales, manta rays and Hawaiian monk seals. Turtle Town offers a reef formed on lava that flowed from Haleakala centuries ago. The caverns and ledges in the lava as well as the lava fingers nearing the surface create the perfect habitat for sponges, corals, octopus, fish, eels, and shrimp. The highlight of this reef is the number of Green Sea Turtles that gather here to be "cleaned" by a fish known as the Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse. The Green Sea Turtles are an endangered species and must not be touched or harassed. They are very curious animals and often allow snorkelers a good look from just a few feet away. Their kalua pork is way too salty and has no smoke flavor at all. All the other dishes I've tried there are definitely sub-par as well.Shaka's is the one I go to the most. They even bring in their lau-lau daily from Hawaii. And they authentic Hawaiian Shave (not shaved) ice...with Azuki beans, too (the whole beans not the sweet red bean paste [kintoki} that they used to have). Japanese brought chicken katsu. etc. They'd bring their food for lunch, and save the rest for dinner. Oils of Aloha® Garlic Isle Macadamia Nut Oil PREPARATION: Crispy Pitas Cut each pita into six wedges. In a small bowl combine lemon pepper and cumin. Place pita wedges on a baking sheet and brush with the macadamia nut oil. Sprinkle with spice mixture. Broil pitas until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Makes 24.
