I have always loved seeing how happy couples are to receive beautiful Hawaii wedding photographs and video. I know most couples who plan a Hawaii wedding would like to have an excellent chance to get a Romantic Sunset Photograph at the end of their Hawaii wedding. Sadly most locations won't have a sunset and most photographers don't know how to capture it on film correctly even if it did happen. New - There are many couples who come to Hawaii who think that the weather in Hawaii is always nice. Many advertisements offer a sunset wedding package even though the sunset is on the opposite side of the island. This is quite common on Kauai and Oahu. People just don't ask enough questions. Hawaii also gets rain all the time. I worked on Kauai for six years and have seen it rain on far too many weddings. The sunsets are almost never visible.Nearly 50% of Kauai weddings get rain. Hanalei gets so much rain you could have a very wet vacation. It can be very nice but you never know. Maui's free locations are usually very small and crowded. The last two times I was on Maui it rained in Wailea and Lahina. I have seen as many as 14 couples show up at the same beach for a wedding.Oahu is fun and has good shopping, I don't consider it a romantic place. Many couples sit in traffic on their wedding day. I know the best sunset wedding location in Hawaii - and it's free. The sunsets are the best in Hawaii all year. It's like a machine - almost every night. Up at Waikoloa, just 25 miles from Kailua Kona on The Big Island of Hawaii, the rainfall is about 6 inches a year. Very little rain and excellent hotels and activities. What a great combination . Other locations on Hawaii Island aren't nearly as nice. I know several of the very best Licensed Ministersin Hawaii and we are offering an unbeatable wedding package. You also can arrange for more flowers, champagne, music, cake etc. if you want. You can customize your ceremony or leave it us - I'll even do a Keep sake edited Wedding Video along with my Forty Print Photography Package (2 still camera shoot - negatives available at $45.00) .You can spend the money you save having fun together on your Hawaii Honeymoon. Plus you will have beautiful wedding photographs and video by Kris. No deposit is required if you are using one of the Licensed Ministers on my list. Just pay the $150.00 ministers fee to reserve your date. The ministers fee is usually sent direct after you make your selection. I like the fact that nearly every couple is in contact with their Licensed Minister / Wedding Officiate.I will hold your date on my wedding calendar if we have the minister booked. Note that $150.00 is deducted from the package price when the ministers fee is paid. Come back and view my site often. I have 1,000's of new photo's to publish. I will also include photo's of some very poor locations. Watch for new photo's at Hapuna, Holoholokai and Harbor Beaches. Also many more at A-Bay. We also have purchased another very expensive computer and more cameras recently. We can now do DVD whenever required. We produce photo CD's several times every week. The most important thing by far is fun professional photography, using the best film, cameras and processing. I have everything covered including the video. Weddings are so much fun in Hawaii - it's the best for wedding photography and ceremonies by the sea. The best location for weddings in Hawaii is here in Waikoloa. No one who wants great Photo's likes rain. Here in Waikoloa you have less than 2% chance of rain and 95% chance of a great sunset. We charge less than many other photographers who don't have the equipment or experience that I do. Within the last month, I spent $8,000 for two new still camera systems complementing my already number one system developed over 12 years for Hawaii Weddings. A very cool 3 chip Digital Sony captures your ceremony by the sea. Nikon, Sony and digital = a great Hawaii wedding - you won't be disapointed. I also do one or two Renewal Ceremonies every month - so romantic. Click Here to Receive Mailer. I am shooting more digital - just like Pro Wedding Photographers all over America. To read the latest about digital wedding photography you can read the same stuff I do every week at: DigitalPhotographers.net One method that works for me is to have 3 cameras. One pro color film, one digital and one backup. This is a slow move to digital. Pro film is still nice with bright highlights - like sunset. Digital images are made availabe on your free web site. I am not substituting to save money on film, it's just that digital is so nice. Actually I am spending lots of money because of the additional cameras, flash and memory cards. Also digital creates endless hours on the computer, but I feel it's worth it now - with the new cameras available. I am always striving to be the very best I can. The prints from digital are made on the same pro photo paper at our lab - made to last 100 years. Digital has arrived and it requires photographers to be computer geeks. I have been editing digital video for years already. Another really great feature about having everything on CD is my ability to edit in some of the best images from the photo shoot when making wedding DVD's - really impressive. Recently we had some bad weather pass by Hawaii. The clouds turned really nice colors after sunset - very very low light and after sunset. With the digital camera I was ready to capture the moment. The scene lasted less than TWO MINUTES. The flexability of digital allowed me dial in the equivelent of ASA 800 film to capture another very special photograph for them - along with the pro film - it's an added benefit that doesn't take away from what I've been doing for many years. This flexability (changing film speed in 10 seconds) is really wonderful. The other benefits of having everything on CD things like cropping and simple retouching at no charge. Also I can make an unlimited number of images. This is great for Photo Journalism style combined with the traditional. Also, if we have everything on CD, magazine style wedding album pages are possible in PhotoShop CS - really cool. Digital cannot be ignored and we are already a digital studio (video).Digital Video is way more complex than Digital Stills. Mention (email me) that you read this and I'll make a free automated website with photographs from your wedding. Available in 1 day. This is nice for family to see your wedding pictures on the net. Usually I email the password once the site is ready. Normally I will leave the site up for 60 days. Should family members want prints they can also order direct. Standard prints including simple retouching and custom cropping are just $10.00 + S/H. I can also host your wedding video on the web - ask for a quote. Video takes much longer to do for the web. Such is the case with Hawaiian quilts. In the early 19th century, New England missionaries set out to Hawaii to spread the Christian word. In the process, they also taught the island natives the technique of quilting. The History of Hawaiian Quilts Hawaiian quilts have adapted over time and are now recognized by their subject matter. They typically reflect the stunning tropical flowers native to the islands or commemorate an event. Rather than using small, patchwork pieces, Hawaiian quilts are made with large pieces of brightly colored material, which are fastened onto a light-colored, solid background piece. The Hawaiian quilting tradition incorporates a fair amount of superstition and custom. For instance, it is considered impolite to sit on a Hawaiian quilt. The quilt is a reflection of the quilt maker and to sit on it implies disrespect. A quilt is always folded back or hung on a quilt rack before anyone sits upon or lies in a bed. There are many examples of Hawaiian quilts on the Internet. You can choose from a variety of block patterns or become inspired by the photos to create your own personal design. Traditionally, due to the warm climate, Hawaiian quilts are made of light and airy fabrics. If you live in a colder climate, consider creating a Hawaiian quilt as your summer covering. Maui WindsurfingMaui's windsurfing shops Maui's Windsurfing Shops Candy.. .It's all sweet, but it's a question of flavor. There is no place on earth with the selection and service as the windsurfing shops of Maui. Highly competitive, and eager to help you have fun, Maui's shops are stocked with the latest and greatest rental fleets and merchandise. Half the fun of preparing for a trip to Maui is investigating the shops. I encourage you to ask your friends about their experiences with particular shops and keep in mind that other shops you may have not heard about could be pleasant surprises. None of the shops listed here are lacking in any way. It may be no more than, " you like the guys at the counter " that makes one shop more attractive to you than another If yer asking me what I think personally? I like them all. I stand on my personal reputation when I say that the people of Maui' s windsurfing retail are all the kind of guys (and gals) you'd love to sail and party with. The shops are listed in the order that they submitted their responses to me. HI: Maui's most complete rental center. We offer every level of rental gear. From learning waterstarts to high performance slalom and wave boards. HT: We are the only shop that owns it's own factory, so we have the newest board design and board construction in our rental fleet. SBM: 200 boards, none over 1 year old, 7 different lines. Something for everyone. WR: We never run out of equipment and keep up to date 1995 equipment. CB: We are willing to negotiate. Rental ware almost new. MWC: We doubled the size of our fleet for 1995. All equipment is new for this year! Great selection of the "latest and greatest" SW: We have a very high performance rental fleet. We also have a great selection of high performance surfboards to rent. From 10' longboards to 6' shortboards. Rental Equipment Prices... 7 day board/rig and two sails (exchangeable at any time) I have decided that publishing the prices may begin a cheesy price war and get me in trouble on this small island. I will tell you that the prices vary from $240-$280 . Prices also fluctuate according to time of year. (It's more in the summer when the shops are rockin and less in the very sailable winter months) Although it is not published anywhere...Many shops have an attitude discount. Smiles count for a lot on Maui.I urge you to consider minor price differences as insignificant relative to service and equipment offered. Check out all the shops for the best value before you decide.. The smart thing is to call around well in advance. Particularly in the summer season. OK, bitch at me. Price for 30 days rental? Again, the shops vary only slightly from one another. the range is $540-$570 What is your policy on damage to rental gear? HI: We offer insurance to clients for damaged equipment. HT: Customer pays for damage unless a manufacturers defect SBM: $3 a day insurance. $20 deductible. Covers damage, not theft. WR: Customer pays for replacement or can have insurance for $5 a day . CB: Equipment responsibility &security deposit, from agreement MWC: Insurance available through travel package SW: Customer is responsible for any damage to gear. All gear we rent is damage free before it leaves the store. What is your policy on counting days sailed? HI: We offer the fairest policy. If you sail, you pay. HT: Customer only pays for the days he (she) sails but customer must turn in equipment on "off" days. SBM: On no wind days, we offer the customer an instant credit to be used for future rentals. In unusual circumstances, we will refund. WR: If equipment is out it is counted as a day sailed CB: No wind day, no charge MWC: We only charge for days actually used. SW: Customers only pay for the days they sail. A "Lay Day" is given when the gear is returned to the shop. So, customers only pays for the days they choose to sail.
