She won a Na Hoku Hanohano award as "most promising artist" for her first album, and will be in contention for "Instrumental album of the Year" for this release. Ms. Paiva (now 17), began recording 2 years ago but has had a fascination with Ukulele, Bass & Slack Key guitar for many years. She plays all three instruments on this album. (using multi-tracking). You'll love her interpretations of the island classics, Akaka Falls & Opihi Moemoe. Brittni wrote several tunes on the album and finishes with her first vocal. She sings "E Lohea Mai" (which means "hear...") in both Hawaiian and Hebrew. The album just touches the surface of this young lady's talent. Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Entrance The Hawaiian Music Foundation Presents... -- A new context in which to cherish Hawaiian music, its history, and the gifted ones who made it. -- The first 1995 Hall of Fame koa exhibit (pictured) tells the story of not only The Royal Four (Na Lani Eha), patrons of Hawaii's music culture, but also the first ten inductees to be honored. This exhibit is currently on display at the Paliku Theatre lobby at Windward Community College along with two of the 3-frame exhibits.
