"The connectivity down from Black Rock all the way to Canoe Beach, softsand, a wide beach, both tranquil water for snorkeling and surf for surfing andboogie boarding — we think that it's one of the great beaches," saidBarry Lewin, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, whichanchors the southern end of the beach. When Dr. Beach, a meteorologist and professor at Florida International University in Miami, selects a shoreline as his favorite for the year, it's taken out of the running permanently, but Hawai'i does not appear to be running short.
