The functions of the programs are mandated by Chapter 94, Hawaii Revised Statutes. The Division is organized into two branches, the Historical Records Branch and the Records Management Branch. The Historical Records Branch maintains the Hawaii State Archives, the state's central repository for non-current government records of permanent value. The State Archives also houses other historical materials including manuscript collections, maps, photographs, and government publications. The Archives is open to the public. The Records Management Branch provides support services to state government agencies of the executive and legislative branches. It does not offer services directly to the public. The primary collections consist of government records from the monarchy to the current legislative session, private collections of individuals and organizations, historical photographs, maps, and library collections specializing in Hawaiian history, culture, and Pacific voyages. The Branch develops and revises records retention and disposition schedules for the State Comptroller's approval. These records schedules identify the minimum amount of time specific records shall be maintained and their final disposition. Policies and guidelines on special topics are issued to facilitate government's efficient and effective management of its records. The State Records Center stores inactive, non-permanent records in bulk for state agencies for cost-efficiency and security. It is not authorized to release any records directly to the public. Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame Entrance The Hawaiian Music Foundation Presents... -- A new context in which to cherish Hawaiian music, its history, and the gifted ones who made it. -- The first 1995 Hall of Fame koa exhibit (pictured) tells the story of not only The Royal Four (Na Lani Eha), patrons of Hawaii's music culture, but also the first ten inductees to be honored. This exhibit is currently on display at the Paliku Theatre lobby at Windward Community College along with two of the 3-frame exhibits. Oils of Aloha® Garlic Isle Macadamia Nut Oil 3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice 3 Tbsp. water 1/2 tsp. minced garlic 10 medium basil leaves Salt and pepper to taste Crispy Pitas (recipe follows) [b]CRISPY PITAS[/b] 4 large pitas 1 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning 1 tsp. ground cumin 2 Tbsp. Oils of Aloha® Garlic Isle Macadamia Nut Oil PREPARATION: Crispy Pitas Cut each pita into six wedges. In a small bowl combine lemon pepper and cumin. Place pita wedges on a baking sheet and brush with the macadamia nut oil. Sprinkle with spice mixture. Broil pitas until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Makes 24. Macadamia Nut Hummus In a food processor combine all ingredients, except pitas, and pulse to purée. Serve as a spread on Crispy Pitas or as a dip for vegetables. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
